The overarching aim of the SMK programme Cultural Spaces and Dreams is to make the transition from kindergarten to school easier. The aim of this project is the development and trial of an easier educational transition using nature and environmental topics.
This project was carried out as a trial with collaboration from the National Park Centre, the kindergarten and elementary school in the town of Wehlen (the only Saxon school with a forest school concept) in the cultural space Osterzgebirge / Saxon Switzerland. The educational transition is made easier for the children using cultural techniques (music, dance, land-art, performance art), the ongoing, iterative engagement with nature and environmental subjects, as well as accompanying educational material (annual calendar, forest log book).
